96 CREATORS join forces to tell 40 STORIES of the (SUPER)Human Condition in Alterna’s 2016 IF Anthology

By on July 25, 2016

With a new theme every year, the 2016 IF anthology tackles SUPER POWERS and the results are nothing short of amazing.

“IF” – the word itself has helped make the impossible become possible.
Coming off the heels of last year’s successful Kickstarter and subsequent release (2015 IF ANTHOLOGY: SCIENCE FICTION), Alterna Comics is happy to announce the highly-anticipated follow up. Celebrating a new theme with every annual release, 2016’s IF Anthology boasts almost 100 creators joining forces to tell 40 stories of the (super) human condition.

If you’re familiar with creator-owned comics, you’ll easily recognize some of the names helping to create this book: Peter Simeti, Tyler Chin-Tanner, Chas! Pangburn, Glenn Matchett, Tyler Wentland, Mike Loniewski, Jayson Stoll, Paul Axel, Jason Snyder, Tim Shinn, Lea J. Zimmt, Austin Janowsky, Lee Brandrick, Jayson Kretzer, Wes Locher, Jason Inman, Ashley Victoria Robinson, Mastajwood, JWNT, Kenn Minter, Paul Bradford, Kerrie Smith, Tito W. James, Pat Shand, Dan Lauer, Michael Oppenheimer, Mark Gilchrist, Luke Marrone, Brian McCranie, Mariano Laclaustra, Chris Brown, Reinaldo Lay, Jason Godwin, Agus Calcagno, Anna Wieszczyk, Cayce Moyer, Vicki Tierney, Graeham Jarvis, Nick Robles, Hannah Deacon, Djibril Morissette-Phan, Chris Callahan, Manuel Preitano – and that’s just to name a few.

Featuring a cover and several stories by IF Anthology concept creator and Alterna Comics founder & publisher Peter Simeti, 2016’s anthology clocks in at 384 pages and is set to be twice the size of the 2015 science fiction-themed anthology. A great anthology for kids and adults, IF ANTHOLOGY: Super Powers is a must-have for fans of the superhero genre.

IF ANTHOLOGY: SUPER POWERS ($14.99, 384 pgs, BW, Young Adult) will be in Diamond’s SEPTEMBER PREVIEWS and is set for a NOVEMBER release through Diamond and IPG.
